A number you cannot check is not an answer
Every figure the product shows can be opened up: what went into it, in what order, and what each step did. If we cannot show our working, we do not show the number.
About
Everyone who sells their time knows they should work out what an hour costs them. Almost nobody has, because the honest version of the calculation is fiddly, changes every month, and produces an answer people would rather not see. So it gets skipped, and the price stays where it landed years ago.
A workbench-style still life: a laptop, an invoice, a calendar with days crossed out. Warm, unglossy, real.
Every figure the product shows can be opened up: what went into it, in what order, and what each step did. If we cannot show our working, we do not show the number.
Defaults are chosen so that a person who never changes them is under-charging as little as possible. Where we must guess, we guess conservatively — for you, not for the demo.
Separation between customers is enforced by the database, not by careful application code, and the enforcement is proved by hundreds of automated tests rather than asserted in a policy document.
We will tell you what a job costs and what a price leaves you. What you charge is yours to decide — there is no recommended figure nudging you towards the answer that suits us.

A small team that has spent years quoting work, getting it wrong, and doing the sums afterwards. The product is the thing we wanted to exist.
